His green eyes were deep in thought when Flameheart reached the camp entrance and sat down, tucking his paws loosely under his body so that he could be able to jump out immidietly if the danger he had been sensing should show its face tonight. The lean tom yawned, his jaws gaping wide. But it wasn't a yawn of being tired, more like the kind he had in the mornings. He was alert, and there would be no one that could bring him down.
Flameheart's long and thick ginger fur was glowing faintly in the evening's pale sky. His scent, both rugged and sweet, filled the clearing as he was the only warrior in that area. Warrior. He was one of the only warriors in AirClan. He smirked. That was a cool thought. And not only that, but he was one of the strongest. And most handsome. And fun. And many other thoughts like that, since now there were only three. And still no deputy, he thought, but it couldn't be one of them. They were too new and had barely met there apprentices, no less trained them. (Plus, none are 'legible except for Peachflower, and Peachy, I don't think you would want her to be it, would you? After all ... Deputies can't have kits. xD Teehee.)

(tee hee..no way cat lady.)
Padding silently up to the camp entrance, Peachflower sat down on the side of the tunnel opposite Flameheart. She didnt lay down like him, but stayed sitting up, ears erect, eyes penetrating the coming darkness, tail swishing side to side. She glanced at her friend momentarily, but only to give him a determined nod and a quick smile. She knew they weren't allowed to talk until Sunrise. And that would be hard, considereing they were three best friends.
Sighing, the young calico rested her leaf-green eyes on the dying sun. She smiled inwardly to herself. She had never thought she'd watch the sunset with Flamheart again. She remembered sadly the time when they were still young apprentices, sitting on the hillside, snd watching the sunset. They had laughed and joked about poking the sun and moon, and bringing the moon to Moonstar. Peachflower recalled Flamheart saying:"Here Moonstar..I brought you the moon..now make me a warrior or I'll bring you the sun and you'll be burnt to a crisp star." Peachflower had laughed, but lectured him on respect for his leader. That's me.." she thought. Always being practical..I have to stop that..I need to loosen up... She shifted her shoulder uncomfortable, and swiped her tongue over one of her paws nervously. Tomorrow they would meet in the field together. And Flamheart had news she couldnt wait to hear.

Ravenwing padded up beside his best friend, his whole body tensed. Something felt out of place. He shoved the thought to the back of his mind, figuring he was just missing Goldenpaw. That had to be it. He wished she could have been with him. Then he wouldn't feel as though he were missing something. He shook his head, silently scolding himself. He could live without her. What would happen if they were seperated? He wouldn't pine away. Or would he? He growled under his breath, then sat down. He looked at Flameheart. The tom looked so relaxed and at peace. Why couldn't he have that peace?

Flameheart knew it was bad to think about himself, but he had nothing else to do. Flameheart knew one way to keep himself entertained and that was to think. And now, he would go in order and just talk to himself about every cat that he knew, starting with the one he knew best. Or least, considering how you thought about it. Himself.
He was fun to be around, he supposed, or maybe just because they had grown up together was why he was friends with who he was friends with. His eyebrows knit together in confusion. What if they just felt sorry for him? What if- Ah. Now. No time to get all self-conscious, he had to worry about more important things. This is how everything was, just ignoring himself. Deep inside, Flameheart could be insecure, though he mostly acted outgoing and friendly. And he was, not that that was a lie. He just worried sometimes, more than he should. And another part inside of him, the one he both loved and hated, kept screaming out her name --
God. Shut up, voices. He told himself with a grin. Whatever happened to when she-kits had cooties and were just friends without all the confusion mixed up and ready to burst out like a raincloud? Hmm. Flameheart looked up. They were nowhere near morning and he'd already started to get bored.
It was humid outside, too, and he stifled a laugh when he saw his gingery fur stick out a little. Ew. Gross. I hate the humidity, he thought. Now time to move on. Stormshade. What was wrong with him? Before the whole cancer thing, he had been fun to be with and Flameheart's best friend. Not a best friend in the senses of Ravenwing, Peachflower, and Goldenpaw, but more in a brotherly way. They had known everything about each other, but lately ... Well, maybe that was just getting older, he thought sadly. Friends can grow apart. But maybe it was because he had become a warrior. Who knew? But...maybe now that I'm a warrior, he'll feel more comfortable. Stormshade and Flameheart were a few days apart from being born on the same day, but Stormshade had been given his name right before the journey and Flameheart received his later.
And Stormshade's more mature than me, Flameheart thought with a grin. Almost anyone was when he was in his playful state of mind. But at times like now, when he was just serene and silent, he felt older then he actually was. His eyes dimmed a bit as he considered something else about Stormshade. Could he be ... hiding something? No. That's crazy.
OOC: ? Should Stormshade crash the vigil, or should there be something else?

The black tom sat next to his two best friends and wondered. He had wondered when he was a little kit what a warrior's purpose was. He'd always been more of a thinker as a kit than the playful sort that never thought. He'd wondered so many things, but that one question had stuck with him through all his days, and even now he wondered if he knew the half of it all. Sure, he knew that a warrior's job was to protect his Clan, and to follow the warrior code, but to what end? What awaited them in StarClan? And was there such thing as anything beyond StarClan? He let out a silent sigh. He needed to stop wondering about that so much. But he wouldn't have time to, soon, he supposed.
He looked at Flameheart and Peachflower and a thought struck him. They were made for each other....but for now, they live by killing each other's hearts. He frowned, blinking. What in the world? He shook his head and blinked again. He must be dreaming. Perhaps Flameheart had been right, and he'd fallen asleep. But no, he was perfectly awake. He was all too aware of it, as the humidity of the night closed in on him. If only he were dreaming. Maybe it would be easier then. Maybe he could wake up from the madness. But what madness did he want to wake up from? And besides, what madness was he referring to? He had just been made a warrior, for StarClan's sake. Yet, there was still the feeling of something wrong at the thought of Stormshade. He knew that Flameheart felt something, but he couldn't tell about Peachflower. She had not spoken to him much.
He wished he could talk to them. He wanted to ask them why things felt so wonderful, yet something felt so...wrong. He shifted, wondering what his two friends were thinking. If only...if only what? If only Goldenpaw were at my side. Maybe then I wouldn't feel this way.... The thought of Goldenpaw brought a smile to his face. The beautiful she-cat had stolen his heart, and he never wanted her to give it back. It was an amazing feeling. But right now he needed to guard the camp, or he might actually fall asleep, as he had promised not to.

OOC: Nah..we'll leave it for later..the vigil theyd have every cat in the Clan awake..he wants to kill Peachy right?
Peachflower shifted her weight again to her right side, and finally, laying down, stared out at the horizon once again. She mewed slightly thinking of Stormshade and Rainpaw. were they okay? Had something happened? Were they still together? Peachflower shuddered at the last thought. Rainpaw without Stormshade was like Leaf-Bare without snow. Just plain wrong.
Thinking to heralef, Peachflower began to wonder what her two best friends were thinking about. She could guess Ravenwing's thoughts, but Flameheart..he was a mystery to her. Even when they had first met at the gathering he had been a mystery to her. His insane random comments, charming nature, and the fact that he was slightly high on himself, yet joking about it the entire time. Oh how she wanted him to care for her as more than just a friend. But fate had a tricky way of dealing her a bad hand, so she had learned to live with it.
Rolling onto her back, Peachflower rolled on the dusty ground, her long calico fur mixing with the dust that lingered in the air.Regaining her feet, she shook her pelt and layed back down. woiw she though. The sun has barely set and I'm already bored.. Fianlly finding a comfortable position, she began to wonder what Falmeheart could possibly have to tell them. Would it have something to do with Rainpaw and Stormshade? Or something to do with her even? She shuddered at the thought of it. Things were finally getting a little better..and she prefffered Flameheart her friend over them not even being on speaking terms.

Moonstar padded toward the threesome. They had been best friends since they were born practically. It almost amazed her. "All right, guys. Vigil's over." She said, looking at the rising sun. It was so beautiful. She almost wished she could have sat vigil with them. It had to have been a time of great thought, since they didn't seem to have time for it otherwise in their schedule. They were always talking. She smiled at the thought. She flicked Flameheart in a sisterly manner, then walked away.
Ravenwing heard Moonstar and stood up, stretching. He yawned and looked at his two friends. He flicked his tail across Flameheart's face, smirking. He blinked and looked at the rising sun. Another day had begun, and it was time for them to talk. And hadn't Flameheart wanted to talk to them once they got off vigil? He yawned again and rolled his shoulders back. "Good morning, sunshines!" He chirped, chuckling.

Flameheart yawned and stood up, shaking his pelt free of the dust that had settled on it during the night. "Well. Wow. Let's go on now, Ravenwing, get Goldenpaw. Meet me at the Airy Valley. Come on, Peachflower." The handsome tom said sharply then padded off.
OOC: I'm sorry, I feel really sick right now. Streamy, can you start the post there, saying she beat Flame in a race or something? I'll get on in a bit, I just have to lay down.

Peachflower smiled as her leader released them. Then, rising slowly to her paws, she stretched, yawned and glanced at her two best friends. "We did it guys.." she said. "We're finally real AirClan Warriors!" The young she-cat gave a yowl of triumph as she nodded to Moonstar, and then took off after Flameheart.
